Generally, when comparing same age CPUs, the higher speed CPUs will have more cores. And older i7 can outperform a newer i3, with all other factors being equal.
After the iX, the first number in the series is the "generation". i7-8700 is an 8th generation chip. i3-10100 is a 10th generation chip, and so on.
i3 is fine for web browsing and office duty. | |
