Be sure to tell them if they cut any of your lines the same fine will apply to them as if you cut one of theirs. Circa 1999 it was $40k/minute on a line from NY to Chicago that we crossed with a tile outlet. They were less than helpful on divulging depth too. When this fiber line was installed they were told about a 36" county main further downstream. Stopped and talked to them when being installed. They were indifferent said it was not on their map and they were not gonna do anything to find it. Called the county engineer and they were less than helpful and said what are we supposed to do about it. It's up to the landowner to address this. I said well the landowner once wanted to put in an industrial park with a lake right on top of the main and had no concerns about upstream drainage issues. The back pressure from the lake on that line would have blown the main out up stream. They finally grudgingly called the contractors and made them locate and go under it. County is worthless on drainage issues including old county mains that they refuse to address. However they are all for development and spending rural property tax dollars inside corporation limits. Local phone company hired contractors in late 70's early 80's for local lines they destroyed many tile lines I had to fix later. Lines attached to main spur that was under the edge of the road. (long story) They smashed through a 24" they were told the exact location of. Then I found this one where the line was perfectly strung through the middle of the tile. Had to dig several feet in each direction to get enough slack to repair properly. Good luck you will need to watch them like a hawk and probbaly spend more time and money that you want to make sure your utilities are not damaged and if damaged get repaired correctly.
