I've been trying for several years. Vine borer has been my limiting factor. How do you control these pests?
chemicaly treat area at main stem above root where they enter.
Go out with knife razor blade cut stem remove( the borers or grub from the moth) them recover with dirt.
What I did was as the squash plant gains momentem when vining at a leaf node where joins stem cover with dirt. Do this in few areas on different vines, If do it early enough the vine leaf node grows roots . If the borer seperates the plant from the roots the vines are rooted. |
