Driftless SW Wisconsin | In 2013 my 569 baler, 630 moco and NH wheel rake together were nowhere near 100k brand new. They were paid for by 2018, made all of my hay since then and are probably worth a good portion of the original cost if sold right now. I maintain them and they are still very reliable.
The used, lower cost 5x6 balers I looked at in 2013 were all over 15000 bales and probably would have close to new price in parts and service by now, 12 years later.
And I think I 've spent only about $700 on purchased hay in the 12 years I've owned my own hay equipment. The economics take a long term view which is not real popular these days.
