Townsend, Montana | As a hay producer, I wholeheartedly encourage you to sell all of your haying equipment and buy all of your hay.
Even with hay prices down where they are, hay is still making me money. Other crops not so much.
10 years ago when I was just getting into hay a lot of my customers were telling me how they "couldn't afford" to put up hay and it was so much cheaper to just buy it.
After the drought of '21 to '23, they either aren't around anymore or are singing a different tune. | |
