
| As one of those mid 50's farmers, I can relate. Started from nothing in my 20's. Fed cattle, custom work, row cropped, rented, finally bought the "home farm" in 2013. And, quite frankly, while not burnt out, the last 3 years have left me feeling somewhat used up. Never vacationed. Never spent money on myself other than a little bit for motorcycles. Put 2 kids in college and one disabled one will be at home. Put in it looks like this will be the third year of crop insurance on one crop or the other. It's frankly exhausting with no end currently in sight. I get it. It is what it is and we'll power through. But dang. |
