| Changed several over the years. The scariest part is untensioning the non-broken spring. Since it is so infrequent, you are always unsure just how strong it is going to be when releasing that last screw.
I got a couple of 18" rods just the right size for fitting in the holes. Makes the job easier. I have done it with a screwdriver before and that was dumb.
The worst part is the darn cable usually comes undone on one end or both during the winding process and getting those all lined back up again.
Winding it up is easier because you start at 0 pressure. Usually, it is around 7 to 7 1/2 revolutions. | |
