Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Well, we had an incredible last 10 days of August receiving 3” over that span of time in about 4 different rain events. Our later planted corn may just go well above APH. Dryland corn was wilting mid August but I think it may have caught it in time. Done irrigating for the year. It was unbelievable how the weather changed from what we had all summer.
Here, some corn might not make 50 bushel. Especially earlier planted corn that got torched mid July or before. But this later stuff looks good. Could go 150. APHs generally run 100-120.
Sister lives just north of Lincoln NE. Crops look great. Needed one more rain. They got 3-5” night before last. Up to 7” just north of them. They will finish out no problem. |
