northeastern Ohio | Seems to be pretty standard these days.
I called a vet clinic last year for a birth assistance on a cow. I had not used them in over a year, so I got an extra charge ($100) on top of the regular charge since I was not a "regular". Vet was up front about it before coming out. She said she would waive the fee in the future if I bought something from her in the next 12 months or had her out for another call in the next 12 months.
My old vet is semi-retired but still helps me out when I need it. He just won't do certain jobs. I remember one time I complained about the price of some drug. I showed him a cheaper price in a catalog, but it required a prescription from him. He said he could write me a script for the drug and I could order it from the catalog,,, as long as I continued to hire him for the regular jobs. He makes money on his service but also gets rebates from the drug companies to cover his time writing scripts, inventory, shipping, billing, ect.... | |
