Central ND | I don't know anything about that shaft. I AM in no way, shape, or form some kind of safety Nazi. But my late neighbor had a gas tank wired up that way with a short cord and a plug. When the hose sprang a leak at the fitting where it cracked from bending, it started spraying gas out the leak at the pump hose. Not wanting to get covered in gas he pulled the cord off of the pump to unplug it, and the tank light up on fire instantly...... He tried water in buckets and the fire laughed at him. Ironically, when the spilled gas was burned off the top of the tank and ground it burned down to a small flame at the hose end and, he and his water bucket got it snuffed out. | |
