Subject: RE: Good tarp for round bales?

I get silver 29x50 tarps at Hazard fraught.................Lay out the tarp, center or a row of bales(5x6) goes on the edge of the tarp, next ones are completely on the tarp, pyramid stack the top one. We put our bottom rows on tires or skids as we stack and have twine tied on those that hangs out on the side where there is no tarp laying. When we got 30 stacked, we take the tarp and pull it up over the top, and it comes down the far side half way down the bottom row of bales on that side. Tie the twine that was hanging out to the loops on the tarp. With them good and tight and the bales stacked tight, they take weather extremely well for the cost of them. The next year we reuse the same tarp and the side that was out towards the weather goes under the bales so the previous years is now the outside. After that we toss them and get new. The air can circulate under and through them and the hay keeps amazingly well.
