| x2 on that.
I kind of miss running my old 7060. It had a good cab and radio. The heat and AC worked.
Then I get in soft dirt or on a side hill and just comfortably sit as my newer tractor with FWA just walks across the hill.
The old 7060 the front end would come up and one had to hold the upper brake to stay on the hill.
I used to go home and do chares and then back to the field until it was getting light, go home do chores shower, eat and go back to the field.
Now I seldom run the lights, stop for meals, and I might not even get to the field by 9 or 10 in the morning.
We used to blow out the radiator and grease everything every morning. Oil was changed every 5 or 6 days in the spring and fall. Not just in one tractor but 2 or 3.
Now I change oil once a year in one tractor, every other year in another. neither are due even that often.
Inputs used to be a smaller percent of gross, but I also use to spend the summer controlling weeds.
Rotary hoe, cultivate 2 or 3 times, and then start walking with the corn knife. We did that right up until the beans would shatter walking through them. | |
