EC Nebraska | Real corporations won't take over crop farming because there are too many people eager to do it for free.
Real corporations, as you say, have a responsibility to make money.
Farmers, especially small farmers, don't want to make money.
Some of us have principles. If you think the govt is spending too much, then you should be advocating for cuts to start at your slice of the pie.
Cheering for cuts to others while begging more for yourself is a different kind of principle.
And, remember, there are more than two options.
You set this up as either we pass additional aid or we cut all govt subsidies entirely.
We could just stick with what's already passed into law and not add any new payments. That's probably the least pain option.
I'm certain that adding new aid payments now is going to hurt more over the next few years than just leaving the current setup alone. | |
