Not if we trigger a global depression on the way to "balancing" it, whatever that may look like.

We're the world reserve currency because we were the last economy standing after WWII. We agreed to be the keeper of the world peace because nobody else could, and it benefitted us greatly. Ditto NATO. How many $ of U.S. weapons have NATO nations purchased?  The problem is, if you want to keep being the worlds reserve currency, you need to keep doing the kinds of things that got us there, and you guys are generally saying to STOP doing those things, and still keep that status. It's not going to happen. We're actively encouraging countries to work around us and seek other means of trade. We're giving up our point of power. We're balking on NATO. We looked like idiots in the Red Sea. We spent Billions to have a little Blip on Iran's Nuclear program. We refuse to halt the Russians in Ukraine. None of this is making us look strong or helping our position.
