If you're saying we should buckle to China...........then I disagree.
I'm old enough to probably benefit from bowing to them today. But I've got descendants that I care more about than myself nowadays.
Great. Don’t we all? How are the current administrations efforts to disassemble trade making the world a better place for them?
We live on an island of higher costs.. in a world where 6 billion people live on less than $2 per day. How is restricting trade making it better for our descendants?
If it we’re not for the A/I tech bubble the economy would/will be in a free fall.
Trade has built this country. Enriching asset owners along the way. If we tear this down.. crashing asset values.. how does this “make things better?”
We invited a War Criminal upon our soil Two weeks ago.. gave him a platform before the world.. Since then he has returned and bombed the hell out of Ukraine. Further destabilizing the region.
What was accomplished?
Forcing China to build up other suppliers such as Brazil and Africa.. and create trade and wealth with them.. while bypassing the US benefits future generations how?
China still has its military.. and still aims to over take us.
Whereas the Marshall plan after WW2 turned our enemies Germany and Japan into our Allie’s and our biggest trading partners for awhile.. even after we gave them “aid.”
It would seem to me that was a BETTER decision.
Which not only brought Peace.. but also Prosperity to current as well as future generations.
If we’re only going to sell to ourselves.. that will be a much smaller market.
