That’s a good point. $8000ac vs $1500ac. Also that farm ground is a way to utalize your manure. In my case our pastures might produce about 800lbs of grass on an average year. Where you could plant dryland hay and make 1-1.5 tons of hay per acre. (millet, forage wheat, oat hay,). And potentially graze the stubble. Or raise a wheat crop in there for extra cash if your rotation allows it. It’s a win win all around but requires alittle work
Where is land 1500 an acre? must be critically short of water?
With fuel prices these days though, you can't truck it too far. Suppose I will get crucified for this statement, but for most of our lifetimes energy has never been cheaper in relation to incomes.
Other question for A&M that comes to mind is how can you take a crop from land without putting some fertility back?
