Iowa | Yes there is a lip that would protrude inside. If you have enough depth from main to lateral can drop in the top 1/3 of the tile to where the main would have to be absolutely full in order to be restricting. Otherwise in certain cases using a sub main might make sense. Say tiling off a 12-24” main if flow was a concern enough that you didn’t want the potiential for restriction those tees every 30-60 ft would get very costly and time consuming to install where tap tees you only need a small section of main exposed and not wrestling large tile and fittings | |
