Central, IA | We have a wheel machine that we put mains in with and then plow the 4” laterals, so installing a bigger main is just a pipe cost factor.
I don’t like to tap 6”, so we normally don’t lay any. Usually mains are 8” with tap tee’s. 10 or bigger usually just go to a regular coupler.
Sometimes we will lay 5 and use regular tee’s if the 8 is way overkill and we need a few hundred feet to finish a main.
I do like the flex tap tee’s. They are worth the money. | |
