| There is a screen on the end of the fuel shutoff valve on the very bottom of the fuel tank. If it plugs up it will do just what you are experiencing. First pull the fuel hose off of your pump and let it drain into a bucket for a little bit, it the flow slows or even stops, check the screen. It's not fun to do with a full tank of fuel though. It's just a rubber grommet that holds the shutoff valve in the tank, grab it with pliars and pull hard and it will come out, then you will get a shower of diesel fuel. Have a new grommet ready just in case your is torn for reinstallation. Obviously if you have good fuel flow into the bucket, this is not your problem, but I've seen it fairly often.
