Subject: RE: Orbital Gear Case...

Pickens

Hello,

Heavy use, aged Kitchen Aides...about all that ever happens is the brushes for slow motion and/or the orbital gear case at the front.

Sold as a unit or for us that do work on them, usually dry grease, worm gear, and scored bearing race.

To Check, remove top cover, run on low with no beater/bowl/ingredients...

If she starts getting warm quickly at the motor, binding gear case...takes about 2 minutes to tell motor hot and gear case getting hot...

Hope this Helps,

CF

PS: There are many cores on ebay, but since they all have that problem with age, be careful...

If you decide to work on the old Girl, here is a Kitchen Aide Mixer Video...
