163” wheelbase with 40’ or 41’ hopper bottom. Too short?

I started out with a 138 inch wheel base tractor with a Hendrickson walking beam.
I am pretty sure it put the previous owner in the hospital from the ride.
It was a money maker though as I pulled a 38 ft floor trailer with it and was very light. I had on a tad more than 1,000 bushel at 80,000. Most at that time were hoping to haul 900.
That worked well for several years until the DOT got tape measures.
