Subject: RE: Jd active header height sensor. Still struggling

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I am fighting with a sensor on my 608C corn head at this time. I found that Deere uses many sensors that appear identical from the outside but have different electrical properties.

I have also learned that dots of paint are used to help identify the sensors. For example, the one from the center of my corn head that I suspect is faulty (maybe not) uses two white dots with a blue dot. The replacement that parts gave me last year has two yellow dots and a blue dot. I have another new sensor which I don't know where it might go (bean head?) but it has two red dots and a blue dot.

I purchased a new sensor that is supposedly for my corn head (there were two choices) and it has two white dots with a blue dot like the suspect one. It still throws an error code but a neighbor told me that his did the same and won't let him calibrate. He said a Deere Tech told him the trick is to tie the arm up part way and then the calibration will be allowed. Once you are in the calibration, then you can untie it and follow the onscreen directions.

I just learned this yesterday and haven't had time to try this calibration approach. Surprisingly even with the error my height control and contour master appears to work properly but shows the error flag.
