Thanks for the lecture Jim, I needed it***. I guess I'll say it again, maybe you'll understand better the second time. There is NO barn ANYWHERE that pays the same money for quality black calves and "wild" marked cattle. Not in MO, not in Texas, not even in liberal thinking Wisc. Anybody that sits in a barn for even a little while knows that Longhorn, Correntine, spotted, belted, shaggy, or even white faced (even you know this) calves get beat like a drum at the homecoming parade. Yep, that's the way the game's played. I see it all the time here in our barns, some hobby folks get some Galloways because they're pretty or some Scottish Highlanders because they're tame, and then they give them away at the salebarn. Sam needs to find an Angus low BW bull and sell high quality black baldies....and he won't have to babysit the cows either.
