Depends what their other equipment looks like. A tell tale sign on how someone runs equipment is the condition of someone's personal vehicle.

Its easier to pull keys, lock doors and say no than deal with insurance, police and being without something you need. If you did lend it out, Id at least ask to see their drivers licence.
Local farmer here hauls bales all over the place and grain. Truck doesnt have yearly inspection and none of them actually have tjeir Class 1(Canada)/ cdl.

I wont lend out my semi but usually end up hauling 1 or 2 loads a year for one of my neighbors. No cash trades hands, end up barter for beef or a bit of harvest labor
