It happened to me once.

Pulled up to the pump for some $4.959 diesel, Right at 4:59 pm. Tried to swipe my card and the gal inside got on the intercom and said “ hold on one second”.

The price at the pump changed from 4.959 to 4.999.

Well that was sure kind of her.


I don't remember how many years ago when the local Casey's still had to manually change the numbers on the sign, I was the only one there, an employee came out to change the sign and said they couldn't change the price (may have been they couldn't raise the price) while someone was at the pump.

Might not have been hard to do that at a 4 pump station, could have tricky at a big station, maybe that's not their policy anymore (here).
