You lucked out an bought the appliance when they were made to last. A 7 year old Whirlpool brand wasn't engineered and built to last 30 years. Most houses are sold every 5 years and manufacturers know turn over = replacing appliances for the new owner's wife so they don't have to build 30 year appliances. All about selling more and meeting investor demands.
