| My take on that is they like their free time
They were/are in a position where new equipment was as easy as trade in the old that was prior generations and sign your name
ROI has been good the last few years so enough to pay the bills and support your lifestyle
Pretty easy to have a really nice line of equipment
Problem I see is ROI is not there now or next year if we don’t see something alter Tough decisions need to be made. Reduce living expensive and or shed debt/financial obligations. Hard to give up a 2 year old tractor and go back to a 30 year old tractor. Problem is 30 year old tractor won’t run the new planter. But planter has all the newest technologies that is claimed to give you a higher ROI. Becomes a whose on first situation. For me only a pencil will make the decision. Not sure my neighbor has had to push one real hard.
Just like the rest of the economy it has been easy living for quite some time
I will go on record I have enjoyed it too but growing up with depression era grandparents I know it could be just having a meal is a blessing. I hope we don’t see that but….
It will be interesting for all of us. Some will prosper some will be forced out on their decisions some others will make that decision for them
