Not that I agree with the dealer, but here's where I have trouble...

You may have ordered a 25, but a 26 got built. They have what you wanted built already delivered at the dealer.

What gets me, is because of maybe a bit of lack of communication and/or misunderstanding, you are thinking about not going through with this transaction.
Then you want to go to a different dealer and build the same vehicle that will probably still be a 26 and price probably about the same?
What gain do you have going to a different dealer, just the fact your local dealer doesn't get your business? They can still sell it to somebody else and make most of their money on it, maybe not quite as much as having a for sure sale to you though.

And yes I read your other reply in the thread. Some dealers just don't care as much as us customers would like, you used the salesman's time to build and order, and now they have a vehicle that they will also have to spend time selling off the lot... hence the deposit. On the business side, I don't blame them for not wanting to give you your deposit back. But I see your side too.

I hired a local landscape company for a foundation drain tile job once. They charged $200-$250 just for an estimate, which I was aware of up front..... why, because too many times they come out and bid the job, explain how they will do it, then jo blow hires the neighbor with an old bobcat/backhoe. Yet the business spent the time out of their day to go to location, bid the job, etc. Yes it's a bit different than the dealership, but in a sense you wasted the dealer's time.

If it's what you want and ordered, then pay the price for it and enjoy it. Either way at this local dealer or another you'll still have to pay for a 26. If you want to pay the 2025 price for a 2026 vehicle, you should probably find a 2025 you like somewhere and buy that instead.

Not trying to be rude with my comments at all, but also look at it from the business/dealer side of things.

You should've tried ordering a vehicle during the back side of Covid. Now that was fun. Think it took us over 2 years to get the vehicle we wanted from GM due to restrictions.

Basis of my reply is, I may not agree with the dealer and the lack of communication, but I just don't see what you have to gain going to a different dealer? Unless another dealer has some big incentive your local doesn't?

As far as pricing, incentives, rebates, financing etc.... yes thats how it works. Unless it's a signed purchase agreement, it's just a quote. And we all know quotes aren't always what the end price is. If I could've locked in financing when we first built our GM vehicle, it would've been 1.99%. By the time it was delivered, it was over 5%.
