Thumb of Michigan | Well I've ordered my last two trucks from GM. Here's what I know; the dealer I worked with knew when the option that i wanted on my first truck was going to be finally available (1st quarter of year), I didn't order truck until available, they got a build date and arranged for me (and 3 other guests of my choice to tour the factory while truck was being built, Flint, MI truck plant).
Second truck that I ordered (build & buy again), dealer told me that truck probably would be a 23 or 24, if I waited to order for ~10 days, it would be a 24 for certain. So, I waited 11 days (until January 21st, 2023) placed order, truck built mid-April, got truck 1st of May.
Full disclosure, I get employee pricing on GM vehicles, so price is fixed by GM, thanks to my decease FIL. Also, I knew 1st truck was built before dealer, thanks to knowing a couple employees who worked in the truck plant, because GM jumped the build date up, we didn't get to watch it on the assembly line. | |
