NW IL, Mercer County | Do you guys typically offset your fall fertilizer purchases with crop sales?
ie: $40,000 in nh3 offset by $40,000 in dec 26 corn sales. $20,000 in soybean P&K offset by $20,000 in nov 26 soybean sales
Just curious since 2026 crop prices are assumed to be unprofitable at this time. Its one of our biggest and earliest paid for inputs. Just wondered if its worth taking some of that risk of the table in any given year
