More subsidizes on crop insurance… sure better rates for beginning farmers in their .01% of the acres (random number) but increased ECO and SCO options for the big dogs covering serious acres. Probably just encourages over production and production in areas not typically growing those crops. Maybe I’m all wrong?


it is still area wide coverage, so if everyone else in the county is doing good management and makes a decent yield and price stays stable, nobody is getting paid. If the bto muds in the crop to collect the insurance he'll have his farm level coverage but doesn't collect area wide unless everyone else is. Probably the big collectors would be the fringe acres that could be droughted out to zero across the whole county on a more frequent basis than cornbelt farmers.
