Our county agent just retired. He was outstanding and very dedicated to his job. He wasn't a 9-5 guy at all. If something needed to be done it got done no matter when.
Our state extension researchers are also very good, I would argue that many of them are the best in their fields in the country.
I know there are some bad ones too, they get tenure and then do the minimum until pension time.
