NW Washington | The Mexican-made Coke, which you can find in some grocery stores, is sweeter than the U.S.-made stuff, and it is made using cane sugar.
Sugar or sucrose is chemically the same whether it is made from sugar cane or sugar beets, but some claim they can taste a difference because of the sugar refining process.
I am skeptical that most folks could taste the difference in a blind taste test. I am not talking about the sweeter Mexican Coke here, I am comparing beet sugar to cane sugar at the same level of sweetness.
