Could be a lot of things. Did you change hybrid this year? Every hybrid is different and can be influenced by population, but they will still have tendencies. Our highest yields we have achieved have been at 40K, but we haven't tried anything higher than that. We have swapped hybrids since then and are only planting around 34 under irrigation with current hybrids.
