Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | That makes sense. I think it was 2013 we started out with very little moisture in our irrigated land. Was using soil moisture probes then. Our plan was to keep the top 1-2’ moist. We did. Never showed much moisture down to 3’ that year. Corn wasn’t very good.
After that, we would fill the profile to 3’ one way or another by mid June then let the crop start using it up and drying it out by fall. Had better corn doing that. |
