SW Iowa | If you're spreading lime anyway and concerned about speed of availability, just take whatever you were going to spend on pell and spread a bit more ag lime IMO. Maybe pell lime is more available quicker, but it's way expensive per unit of neutralization. I've run a little bit of pell with dry spread a year or two when I couldn't get ag lime spread, figuring a fertilizer spreader was already going to be there and the first X lbs of calcium was going to do the most good anyway. In any other scenario, ag lime seems a whole lot more cost effective to me. | |
