S Illinois
Do you normally plant such short maturity? 109 day corn takes roughly 2700-2750 gdu's to reach maturity. Planted the first week in May in a place like Owensboro, that maturity corn would be black layered before Sept 10th? Probably finishing a little quicker than normal, but that would be a pretty short season hybrid especially planted that early.

Edit: I would never expect a 109 day corn in KY to not be ready until October unless planted in June. That maturity planted early May even in S IL would be for early harvest to either get the bugs worked out of the system or to take advantage of early premiums. Sept 15 or earlier would be the normal harvest date for that maturity.
