I have a piece I rent that has high OM levels and low PH’s. I am going to spread a decent bit of dolomitic lime this fall out there, but I know it won’t have much of an immediate effect. I have never used pel lime before but my understanding is it’s more immediately available. These ph’s are in the low 5’s and OM levels are crazy high in this muck so I cannot see where throwing a little pel lime out would hurt anything. The beans just aren’t podding up like I’d like to see them. What would be a good strategy? What kind of rates do you put pel lime out at and have you seen good roi?
Won’t hurt anything, just your pocketbook. You’ll get a lot more out of the dolomitic than giving credit. Pell lime just makes you feel good and drains checkbook |
