| is that in 1991 we had very dry last half of summer here 60966. I contacted head geologist at the UofI, his name was Ross Brower. He wrote a several page report for this area. The epilogue paraphrased, was, you have a snowball chance in he!! A local well driller dowser, who had no use for geologists, said, "if it is there, we will find it!" We walked the perimeter of the 400 acres in question, and flagged the veins according to his being pulled to the ground being the indication that an aquifer was likely there. ....The result was a 400gpm in stone, and another well located in 8' of gravel found at a depth of 85'. Both wells have static water level about 5' from the surface. When pumping the 600 gpm well for fall it's worth, which is within 400' of the house well, drawdown on the house well is about 27'. A documentary should have been made about this man. He had dancing blue eyes, a dry sense of humor, and a smile for everybody, an was raised in and orphanage. His name, Delmar Denton, he resided in Raub, Indiana. One of his sons had the gift also. | |
