I found a septic tank and all the plastic pipes for a guy that bought a house and had no idea where the sewer was located. Used 5/16 rod 2' about long with another 6" bent at a 90 degree angle for handles. Hold them loosely in your hand and they will either cross or spread apart. I never located water for a well since a well can be drilled anywhere on the farm and hit water at about 160'.
Finding water=water witch? dowser?
