After looking at some of our corn the last few day I wondered why I let the chem dealer talk me into spraying some of our really good looking corn the last couple of years. We did not spray any this year and there is some rust but no where near as bad as those pictures. Corn is between 75% milk line and black layer. June and July this year had most days near 90 if it did not rain that day, lots of dew most mornings, most days the humidity did not get below 45%, it rained 1 to 3 times per week. Longest stretch without rain was 6.5 days.  It is almost never this humid for both June and July.

It rained so often and dried so poorly that some of the well drained riverbottom (only flooded once) did not get planted because it was never dry enough to plant. In other wet summers like 19 and 21 we planted our wettest ground twice during June and July, that ground either had a dead cover of rye or wheat that was harvested on it.
