Subject: RE: Going rate to dry lot dry cows

I’m kicking around the idea of feeding for somebody again. We’ve kept dry cows. We’ve calved out for guys as well. I’ve also grass (alfalfa hay and barley silage mostly) fattened steers and heifers for some guys.

Haven’t had any cattle on the place in 5 years or so. I got hurt bad and the physical recovery was long. Sold out of my cows almost a decade ago in a bad drought.

Like to have cattle on my farm land. We feed hay or hay and silage out on grain stubble and grass/alfalfa hay fields. My farm is not all contiguous so when the residue starts to get beat up at the home farm we move to dry lots.
