Thank you for the feedback! We’re also working on early detection of disease symptoms, with our first stress index focused on mildew in grapes. A study from the Bionutrients Food Association (BFA) a few years ago showed striking differences in the nutritional quality of food products, if I recall correctly, the largest gap was a 16x variation in blueberries.

For now, Brix in tomatoes is our first validated measurement, but we aim to expand to other indicators such as anthocyanins and vitamins. That said, unless consumers are willing to pay more for higher-quality food, and unless growers can capture more of the value created rather than it being absorbed along the supply chain, there will be little direct benefit for farmers. Still, without reliable measurements, it will be very difficult for growers to achieve higher margins.
