Fontanelle, IA | I’d make it hurt as not meeting specs agreed upon and advertised by the seller &sellers agent. This isn’t a colored cattle are x cheaper vs. black cattle price. This is seller either ignorantly or overtly not meeting specs.
If a dairy hauls out of spec milk to a creamery, the creamery rejects the load and says go f’n dump it.
If you have out-of-spec damaged grain and an ethanol rejects you, you end up dumping your out-of-spec corn at feedlot that feeds damaged corn and pays 30 cents on the dollar.
Colored cattle are good cattle -same as black cattle are good cattle. But, buyer spec’d and agreed to pay the seller x price for > 70% blacks….. and, the seller agreed to those terms because the seller advertised them that way.
I’d want an extra $100-150 per head above the black vs colored price for even having to deal with out of seller spec’d products. They wouldn’t get away with pulling that chat in the “business” world where buyers have legal teams and no qualms with unleashing them | |
