Subject: Hog Barn questions

We have an old building with a concrete floor we’ve used a couple years to farrow less than 10 sow for 4-H. I’d like to figure out a better way to drain the waste out vs a shovel and manpower. I contemplated cutting the concrete and putting in a drain or making a deep pit to be pumped out later.

Curious if someone has a good idea or previous experience. We’ve considered just starting over and building or retrofitting something else. We’re in Montana and farrow fair pigs when it’s very cold. We have no intention of doing more than 10 sows.

Thanks for any suggestions. Pictures would be great too.
