Southeast WI | Its basically genetic as to how many rows a hybrid puts on which is why the yield formula is so problematic when using kernel counts.
Question really is how many kernels per bushel do you have? 90,000 is the standard, however 80 or 70 is more appropriate with large kernels which you won't know till near black layer as to "how large" they are and sometimes 65,000 is correct. Lot of times we have wondered where did that yield come from out of 16×32 ears? Kernel size made up for it.
