There’s a large operation nearby that dry lots hundreds of cow/calf pairs. Some are on pasture but a large number are in a dry lot. They calve February/March and are absolutely top notch. I think confinement cow/calf is kind of like dairy, management is everything. Some guys can make anything work.
I would love to tour an operation like that. The only thing that has been stopping us from dry lot is we’re maxed out on labor. It’s the only way I see feasible expansion in my neighborhood. |
