30 years ago I modified a IH corn planer to hill drop corn on 30 inch centers so I could cultivate both ways. And I also modified the cultivator so the shovels would move in and out if I just when straight . Also it hill dropped the insecticide with the corn. Today if you hill dropped corn you could just get one of those robot cultivators to run up and across the rows.
