Silage this fall is like $.016lb
feed 60lbs for $1
corn stalks for $.025lb
By the time you buy or rent pasture
keep the fence up
drive to check them,
Gather for treating or working
Dry lot isn't that bad.
I have both and have done both.
My pasture is hooked to my main yards or i wouldn't mess with it.
Esp in NW IA.
Drylot or mess with pasture, still looking at $750/ yr to feed a cow.
