I’m older than most on this thread. In 1974 fats were losing $125-150 dollars per head. I saw thousands of calves weighing 3-400 hundred pounds bringing in the teens. Corn was around $3.50 a bushel and the heavier feeders were bringing more than the pee wees because of cost of gain so high. I literally saw 3 weight calves bring 13-18 cents a pound. So many cattle moving through the auctions that I would see the sun coming up on the way home.
